My wonderful crafty sister, Corris, had a fun shoebox swap with her downline. As her Stampin' Up! upline, I was invited and loved spending the day with Corris and Kim. Corris created a card using the Petite Pansies Simply Sent Card Kit which I never used.
I love the color combo of this card. It was simple to make and has a lot of pizazz! Thanks Corris and Kim for a great day!
I had an amazing crafty day today! I spent a bit of time with my friend, Gayle, and TONS of time with my crafting sister, Corris! We spent all day gabbing, eating Marty's amazing food and crafting! I have this box of projects that I refer to as the box of Misfit Toys (from Rudolph). It's all the projects that I never seem to get to or start and never finish. Today, I cleared out the box! For those of you that know me, I know you are gasping! Many of the projects were unfinished jewelry items. This is a piece I started as part of a class with Eileen a million years ago. Today, I added the finishing touches and it will soon find its way into my jewelry amoire!
I used Stampin' Up! Hodgepodge Hardware in Vanilla to make the frame of the piece! I hope that you love it and will take a moment to leave a comment!

You Glow Girl!
It’s time to get glowing skin! My first homemade bath project was a batch of sweet smelling sugar scrubs that I made for my family. They loved it! I love sugar scrubs because they’re fairly simple and cheap to make from ingredients found in your own kitchen cupboard. Plus, you can give this away as fun summer gifts to all your friends and they will think you're soooo crafty!
Here’s a great little recipe for a sugar scrub that will help exfoliate your skin in the shower and leave you feeling soft and supple. You glow girl!
Basic Sugar Body Scrub:
1 clear plastic jar
1 cup sugar (brown sugar, raw, turbinado or any type will do)
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil (grapeseed or jojoba are good alternatives)
A few drops of a scented fragrance oil (optional)
Directions: In a plastic bowl, mix the sugar and olive oil and if you like, you can add a fragrance to make it more fun. Try lavender essential oil to soothe your senses or a citrusy fragrance oil for an energizing experience. Fragrance oils are safe for use on skin and can be purchased at your local health food store or online. Put the mixture in a plastic container or jelly jar and keep in the bathroom for use anytime. This scrub works best during a warm shower. Rub all over your skin and rinse off. Enjoy!

Lemon loofah soap by Corris Little
Are you ready for summer? I am!
On a hot summer day, I love pouring myself a nice tall glass of homemade lemonade. So imagine my glee when I discovered this neat little recipe for Lemon Loofah soap. Trust me, it's just as good and very refreshing!
What is loofah? It's a plant that grows much like the cucumber. It can be dried, shredded and added to handmade soap for a natural exfoliant for your skin. It's a really unique ingredient to add to your homemade soaps.
Once you're done making the soap, this delightful bar smells like fresh lemons! Or if you're a candy addict, it'll remind you of a box of LemonHeads, too!
A friend who tried my soap said "It smells like fresh lemonade and makes your skin great. I didn't want to leave the shower and when I did I made a glass of lemonade."
Here's how to make your very own ...
Ingredients:
1 4-ounce bar unscented glycerin soap
1 teaspoon powdered loofah
15 drops lemon essential or lemon fragrance oil
1 4-ounce soap mold
Directions: In a double boiler on the stove or in a microwave on a low setting, melt the bar of glycerin soap until liquefied. Remove from heat and stir in powdered loofah and lemon oil. Pour melted soap into the mold and let set for three hours or until hardened.

Crafty Tip: For easy removal, put the filled soap mold into your fridge or freezer for a few minutes and then pop your soap out of the mold. It works every time!

This is a project I made as a gift for my friend and downline, Yvonne! It features some (retired) Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper. AND...it also shows off the wonderful line of Sticky Cuts and Stampin' Glitter that are both available in the new catalog!
What I love about this project is that I could pick up a really inexpensive picture frame and alter it. With the amazing products from Stamin' Up! and a great picture, I have the perfect gift. Summer break has started for me! I am so excited for all that I have in store--fun with Marty and my wonderful friends! Stampin' Up! Convention is only five short weeks away. I am heading to PA to Jan Wakeland's with Corris and Laurel in about two weeks. Who could forget one of my favorite things, Broadway in Bryant Park?

Today, was the exciting Glass Etching Class! We had a full house at The Mecca with 8 stampers. Each person had the opportunity to made a large, glass candle holder and an etched mirror. This mirror was made by a new meetup member, Geddar. She was such a pleasure to meet and craft with and she made a gorgeous etched mirror.
Amalia made her candle holder using a foam stamped image. She coated her piece in etching creme to give it a frosted look. Gorgeous!

This is me posing with Corris' etched candle holder. She did a freehand floral technique. So pretty!
Amalia coated her piece in Etching Creme. It looked like she was putting icing on a cake...not the most delicious frosting.
Eileen made a beautiful piece of glass. I love the stencil and the bling. I bet this will look gorgeous lit up with a soft candle.
Melissa is SO talented. She used a delicate, detailed stencil to create this simple and fresh candle holder. It features bird, branches and BLING!

This is Melissa's etched mirror. For some reason, I didn't take a picture of Corris' but they used the same stamp set. Both mirrors turned out simply beautiful!
Eileen used flowers, vines and swirls to create her etched mirror. I love the delicate addition of bling.
"Ballet" Melissa did one simple butterfly trimmed in bling. I love the simple look of this...very Spring looking. Nice job!

Last night, I had so much fun stamping with Corris, Alexei, Jenny B and "Ballet" Melissa! We used the super cute stamp set, FOREST FRIENDS, on all of our cards. I loved combining the BIG SHOT TOP NOTE and the new paper from TASTE OF TEXTILES. Melissa has bunnies at home and loves them to bits. I knew she would just adore this card!
Hoot, hoot...this cute owl looks fabulous flocked and sitting on this branch. It is from the Bird & Branches DieCut for the BIG SHOT.
This card was so much fun. I got the idea for this from a card on http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ but changed it to make it my own! I love this paper from the OCCASIONS MINI called Walk in the Park. I made the oval frame from the OVAL SCALLOP FRAME diecut for the BIG SHOT. I am so excited for Spring and these cards show it.
