Furry Forest Friends

This is a brand new stamp set called FOREST FRIENDS available from Stampin' Up! It is one of the adorable sets available in the OCCASIONS Mini Catalog. If you would like a copy of this mini catalog, please post a comment and I will contact you. I am more than happy to put one in the mail for you.

Last night, I had so much fun stamping with Corris, Alexei, Jenny B and "Ballet" Melissa! We used the super cute stamp set, FOREST FRIENDS, on all of our cards. I loved combining the BIG SHOT TOP NOTE and the new paper from TASTE OF TEXTILES. Melissa has bunnies at home and loves them to bits. I knew she would just adore this card!

Hoot, hoot...this cute owl looks fabulous flocked and sitting on this branch. It is from the Bird & Branches DieCut for the BIG SHOT.

This card was so much fun. I got the idea for this from a card on http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ but changed it to make it my own! I love this paper from the OCCASIONS MINI called Walk in the Park. I made the oval frame from the OVAL SCALLOP FRAME diecut for the BIG SHOT.
I am so excited for Spring and these cards show it. I hope you enjoy them! PLEASE take a moment and leave a comment. I would love to hear from you!

Beautiful Band of Flowers

4/16/2009 04:44:00 PM / Posted by Heidi Bound / comments (0)

The newest and coolest thing to come out of the Mecca! I saw an idea sort of like this in a crafting book and HAD to make these for my nieces, Reghan and Delayne! I can't wait for my sister, Hilary, to get them and give these to the girls. I MUST see pictures!
This one started as a simple purple satin band. I loved altering it with lots of ribbons and beautiful silk flowers.
These are such spring and GIRLY colors. I loved combining different colors in the same way they we would see them outside in a wild patch of spring flowers.

Silhouette Cards

4/11/2009 06:15:00 PM / Posted by Heidi Bound / comments (1)

Do you love the look for Silhouette Stamps? They are all the rave! Several stampers gathered at the MECCA to make an awesome project...a card holder FULL of beautiful cards that are matching! Corris is getting ribbon cut and ready for her card holder.

Jenny B. LOVES that Urban Garden paper! Her project is so creative!

Bon Jovi Jen and Jenny B. chat about what paper might look best on their projects. With so many gorgeous papers in that pack, it is so hard to pick!

Yvonne is smiling and LOVING creating with the Inspired By Nature stamp set. This set always reminds me of Convention 2008--we got it in our stampin' bags!

I loved making these cards. The colors are great and are perfect for all different occasions.

Here is a finished set of cards! It amazes me how you can use several stamp sets and tie them all together with one coordinating pack of Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

BINGO at Gayle's!

4/09/2009 11:40:00 PM / Posted by Heidi Bound / comments (2)

Do you live in Hoboken? Then, you MUST check out my friend Gayle's amazing Meetup Group! She is a very creative and overall sweet person. This night we played Stampin' BINGO at her home. Each winner went home with brand new Stampin' Up! Goodies! I won three times and was so thrilled about my new brads, wheel and stamp.
Melissa had a great time playing. Jimmy joined us and was lucky enough to win some flower brads. The question is...did he craft with them? Only HE will know!
Yes, this is Marty pouting...why? You guessed it...he DID NOT win! Poor guy!

Several members of the Gotham City Stampers Demonstrator Team headed out to Gayle's house to play BINGO, eat and hang out. This is me (Heidi), Laurel, Melissa and Gayle showing off our winnings.

Mart STILL pouting! Better luck next time!

A nice big smile. Maybe it's because he remembered that he scored an amazing parking spot. Thank goodness...it was freezing that night!
So, if you live in or around Hoboken and you LOVE crafting! Check out Gayle's meetup group!

You've Been Framed!

4/07/2009 05:02:00 PM / Posted by Heidi Bound / comments (1)

This class was SO much fun! We collaged plain white picture frames using lots of patterned papers and embellishments! Corris cracked up when she put herself in her frame! Besides her big smile, her frame was gorgeous! At this point, she wasn't quite finished but was having a great time posing!

Alexei came back after some time off from stamping to have her brand new baby boy. We missed her and were excited to have her back at the MECCA! Her gorgeous frame will be perfect for a wonderful picture of little Knuckles.

Corris' finished frame with JUST the perfect picture! Too bad we can't hang it on the wall just like this!

Corris and Yvonne pose with their frames. Corris signed Yvonne on as a demonstrator a few months ago. She is a positive addition to our growing team!

NYC's finest photographer at her best!

Here I am hard at work covered in Mod Podge! Yvonne says the smell of it makes her smile...reminds her of crafting at the MECCA! Too funny.

I used some beautiful paper and punched out squares. It is a frame for my sister, Ashley, but I haven't seen her lately to give it to her. Maybe I need to cave in and put it in the mail. I always love giving handmade gifts in person but sometimes you just can't. (I miss Ashley...)

STILL working! I love any type of altered projects. This one was really fun and I spent the day with great friends. Eileen was there, too! Her frame was amazing but I don't have pictures of it.

Flip Flop Album

4/06/2009 09:11:00 PM / Posted by Heidi Bound / comments (0)

My principal and dear friend, Alexei, had a beautiful baby boy and I was looking for something crafty and sweet to make for her. I thought a brag book would be something great. She could fill it up with pictures to carry in her bag. Every new mommy needs a book to share with friends and family!

I made a book for her called a Flip Flop Album. This project was found on the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Website. I used papers from several different companies. Alexei loves earthtones and these colors, textures and designs looked like something she would love!

This is the inside of one of the panels of the book. It is called a Flip Flop Album because of all of the "flipping" and "flopping" of the pages and panels.

There are many cool places to put pictures and journaling inside this mini scrapbook!

This is another panel! I love how all of these colors worked together!

Here is the book opened up but all of the panels are closed. She LOVED this gift!

I love how the book looks all closed up. One you open it, it is FULL of beautiful papers and hopefully...pictures and stories! I will have to ask her to bring it over to the MECCA to show me how she filled it all up!

My Little Purse Swaps

4/05/2009 09:44:00 PM / Posted by Heidi Bound / comments (1)

Each month at our team meeting we do a really great swap! This gives us a chance to learn from each other and share a piece of our creativity with our team members. At each meeting, one person is chosen randomly to come up with the "theme" for the swap for the next meeting. I made these little purses for our February Meeting and just LOVE them! I was inspired by purses made by Mary Fish. I earned TONS of Designer Series Paper and ribbon from our recent Sale-a-Bration Promotion. (Most of you are nodding your heads as there is ribbon and paper all over the MECCA!)
I printed out the purse templates on this paper and cut them out. I embellished the purses with Bright Delights Rub-ons and a very cool button from Button Bouquet! I used Sticky Strip to put them together and added ribbon. Each one was unique in some way and everyone LOVED getting them!

A Gift for a Friend

4/04/2009 09:12:00 PM / Posted by Heidi Bound / comments (1)

As team leader of the Gotham City Stampers, I organize monthly team meetings. We talk about business, celebrate accomplishments, swap and share crafts. One thing that we did recently was swap Valentine's Day gifts. I was lucky enough to get the name of one of my bestest buddies, Corris.

I picked up an unfinished wooden jewelry box from Kate's Paperie in New York City. Corris LOVES the Pink Flamingo Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! I used that paper and Mod Podge and covered the box. I added some light pink paint to match the paper.

I lined the inside of the box with felt to protect whatever Corris decided to put inside.

I had so much fun making this bracelet using the Pink Flamingo Paper. I added little colored beads wrapped in wire to finish it off.

I surprised Corris with this box at one of the meetup events at the MECCA!

Corris and Yvonne pose with the jewelry box. Corris loved it and I even saw a little tear of happiness!
